Careers Hubs connect schools, colleges, employers, and  providers in local areas across England. The goal is to make it easier for young people to explore opportunities, develop skills, and confidently prepare for their next steps.

Our vision is to transform careers education in Berkshire by connecting young people with inspiring employer experiences that spark ambition and informed choices.

We support in closing gaps for disadvantaged students, help teachers link curriculum to careers, and work with employers to align education with local skills needs—ensuring every young person thrives.

Together, we will raise aspirations, unlock potential, and create brighter futures for all.

Making a difference

Our Enterprise Co-ordinators work closely with Careers Leaders in Berkshire to strengthen careers programmes, connect schools with local employers, and ensure young people have meaningful encounters with the world of work. From strategic planning to organising work experience and employer talks, Enterprise co-ordinators help schools meet the Gatsby Benchmarks and prepare students for their future.

Flexible workplace experience. Let’s make it work.

Too many young people in our area are missing out on workplace experiences because there aren’t enough being offered – which is a real missed opportunity for businesses in to help shape the workforce of tomorrow. Small businesses like you are uniquely placed to inspire young people and get them into work with the confidence and skills they need to hit the ground running. If businesses like yours do not do their bit, who will?

Workplace experience isn’t all about week-long commitments – flexible workplace opportunities make it easier than ever for businesses to get involved. If you can’t commit to a week, you can offer a project experience for a day, or invite a class in just for a few hours, so they can see what goes on in a business like yours. You can offer to run a skills session – or invite them along to a suitable event that’s already in your calendar.

Whatever works for you works for us, and will work for young people in Berkshire, because every bit of meaningful exposure to the world of work prepares them for it. So reach out to us – as your local Careers Hub, we’re already helping businesses like yours make it work, and can share all the practical help, resources and workplace experience ideas you need to develop your offer or get started.
