The REPF grants West Berkshire scheme provides capital funding to small rural businesses through the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), supported by DEFRA. This initiative is part of the UK Government’s Levelling Up Campaign, aimed at boosting local economies and creating opportunities in rural communities.

REPF grants West Berkshire support capital projects that improve productivity, encourage diversification, and strengthen rural infrastructure. The scheme aligns with the Levelling Up White Paper and Future Farming Programme.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a small or micro business based in West Berkshire
  • Employ fewer than 50 full-time equivalent staff
  • Operate in a designated rural area
  • Have been trading before January 2022
  • Comply with UK subsidy control rules
  • Not have received funding from other DEFRA schemes

Businesses can apply for fixed grants of £20,000 or £14,681.50. A total of £109,363 is available across six grants. Projects must begin within three months of receiving funding.

  • Equestrian and animal-related services (e.g. kennels, livery, pet health)
  • Farm diversification (e.g. glamping sites to support rural tourism)

Submit your application to the Economic Development Team at:
📧 [email protected]
Include a completed form, cost breakdown, and evidence of project readiness.

The REPF grants West Berkshire scheme offers vital support for rural businesses aiming to grow and innovate. By funding capital projects, it helps build a stronger, more resilient local economy.
