Skills Bootcamps are bespoke 60-hour training programmes, which enable Large Employers and SME’s to upskill their employees in level 2/3 accredited training. The employer leads on curriculum design, in collaboration with our Technical Tutors, and chooses modules which best suit their employees skills sets. These modules are then delivered, around work schedules, over 8 days within a 16 week timeframe.

The Skills Bootcamp training programmes are partially funded by the Department for Education (DFE), as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee. Large organisations (over 250 employees / £50 million turnover) can qualify for 70% of the training provision to be funded, whilst SMEs (less than 250 employees / £50 million turnover) can qualify for 90% to be funded, provided their employees hold the required pre-requisite entry qualifications.

Sole Traders can also apply and they will be 100% funded by the DFE, provided they hold the required pre-requisite entry qualifications.

The Green Skills Academy at Langley College is currently delivering Skills Bootcamps in the following subject areas:

  • Electrical Installation and Ventilation
  • Plumbing, Heating and Ventilation
  • Retrofit – including the latest updates to the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).

From 1 April 2023 all privately rented non-domestic properties, regardless of whether there has been a change in tenancy or not, need to meet the minimum standard EPC rating of ‘E’ to be complied with the new regulations.

From 1st April 2027 the minimum rating in scope of MEES is set to change from EPC E to EPC C as a stepping stone for 1st April 2030 whereby all commercial properties will need to have a minimum EPC B to be let out.

They are easily reached via junction 5, off the M4 or via Langley Station, on the Elizabeth line. Our Langley Campus in Slough offers plenty of free parking and there are a number of food outlets, both onsite and opposite the college, where you will be able to purchase breakfast and lunch. All day refreshments are provided on a complimentary basis in our classrooms.

Please contact them at [email protected] or call them on 01753 793 244 to obtain further information or to enquire about reserving a place on one of their upcoming Skills Bootcamps.
