Net zero means that you are putting no more carbon into the atmosphere than you are taking out of it.
From installing energy saving lightbulbs and switching to electric vehicles to installing a smart meter, insulating your building or adopting environmentally-friendly packaging options, there are many practical steps you can take that will benefit both your business and the planet.
Becoming more sustainable makes good business sense to reduce emissions, realise efficiencies, save money, improve your reputation, attract new customers, be a responsible employer and build resilience for the future.
The UK Business Climate Hub allows you to demonstrate you are serious about making changes and also provides a wealth of useful tools and resources to help your business make changes and progress your journey to net zero.
Further support is available from:
- The Workplace Charging scheme The WCS scheme provides support in the form of a voucher towards the up-front costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charge-points, for eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations.
- The government’s plug-in grant scheme which may provide a discount on the cost of a new low-emission vehicle.
- You can claim capital allowances when you buy energy efficient, or low or zero-carbon technology for your business which reduces the amount of tax you pay.
