UCAS has launched a new CV Builder for Students, a user-friendly, step-by-step tool designed to help learners showcase their skills and achievements in a clear, professional format. Stored within their Hub profile, this tool builds confidence and ensures students have a tailored CV ready for applications and career encounters.

CV Builder is a new user-friendly, step-by-step tool designed to help students:

  • Showcase their unique skills and achievements in a clear, professional format.
  • Build confidence by providing structure and guidance, ensuring nothing important is overlooked.
  • Create a template of key information they can quickly tailor for different applications and encounters, all stored in their Hub profile.

‘Where Next? Who applies for Level 4 and 5 qualifications?’ a research report published by UCAS, in partnership with Gatsby Charitable Foundation which explores the behaviour and experiences of Levels 4 and 5 qualification applicants:

UCAS Tariff Points for Apprenticeships: For the 2026 cycle, UCAS are introducing a new Tariff points structure that now includes Level 3 apprenticeships alongside A-levels, T Levels, and other post-16 qualifications. These changes aim to support apprentices’ progression to higher education by creating a unified system that helps universities and colleges evaluate apprenticeship qualifications against traditional academic routes. Further information on the  recent changes, including the new calculation method, key points for providers, and the impact on apprenticeship pathways into higher education is available using the link below.

Lastly there is a great article available, written by Caroline Green, Career Development Expert (RCDP) on how to support your students making an apprenticeship application available on ucas.com, which has links to key tools to support students.
